John Slupski, CFP®

John is a Senior Financial Advisor with more than two decades of experience providing comprehensive and highly personalized financial and investment planning advice to individuals, families and charitable organizations. He has a special interest in goals-based financial planning, which allows his clients to understand exactly how different choices they make will affect their ability to achieve their objectives for themselves and their family. His specialties include tax-efficient investing, executive compensation, stock options, family estate and legacy planning, and tax minimization.

John spent the first decade of his financial advisory career at Wingate beginning in 1999, after eight years at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts, primarily in product management and new product development. He returned to Wingate in 2017 after eight years of building his client practice elsewhere, first at Pegasus Advisors and later at East Coast Asset Management. While at East Coast, he also provided mutual fund, ETF and separate account research for the firm.

John is a Certified Financial Planner™ and received his MBA with high honors from Boston University in 2001. He graduated from Boston University cum laude in 1990 with a BA in Political Science and a BS in Journalism. He has been a guest lecturer at Boston University on both retirement planning and investments and has been quoted in US News & World Report on achieving a balanced approach to retirement planning. He is an active member of the Financial Planning Association (FPA) and has advocated for stronger consumer protections for financial planning clients in the U.S. Congress and the Massachusetts legislature. He also provides pro bono financial advice to Dana Farber cancer patients through the FPA.

John is married with two daughters in college who keep his life very interesting. He is an avid science fiction reader and a diehard Boston sports fan who is old enough to remember the misery of the years prior to 2001.
